Georgia Access has the ability to double-check information submitted in consumer applications with federal and state data sources. This includes checking income information for your household with the IRS. However, to do this, Georgia Access requires your explicit permission, and IRS regulations do not allow this permission to be given for longer than a five-year period. Verifying the information with the IRS is a requirement for providing APTC and other subsidies. This can be easily solved by updating your application and giving new consent.
