Individuals who applied for healthcare coverage through Georgia Access and were assessed as potentially eligible for Medicaid by Georgia Access but were then determined ineligible for Medical Assistance by the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) will be sent back to Georgia Access for enrollment in healthcare coverage.
If the information used to determine Medical Assistance eligibility is correct, the individual should work with Georgia Access to pursue healthcare coverage options available to them. If the individual disagrees with the Medical Assistance eligibility determination and believes the DFCS Office made a mistake, the individual has the option to appeal the Medical Assistance eligibility determination.
Don’t worry! Georgia Access is still available to help you shop for a great plan – high quality health coverage that is affordable and meets the healthcare needs of you and your family. While you may not be eligible for Medical Assistance, you may still qualify for financial assistance to lower the cost of health coverage and care by enrolling coverage through Georgia Access.
